The bluenette Miqo'te isn't one to talk that much about her past. not at first, anyway. Suffice to say that she's been around the block a few times, working on both sides of the law.But...if you must know...Cel's early life isn't one that she remembers very well. Her parents gave birth to her and then abandoned her at Summerford Farm in Eastern La Noscea. She was placed in an orphanage in Limsa Lominsa, and fell in with the wrong kind of crowd. Specifically, the kind with loose morals and a black flag.She ran with her crew for several years, growing up with the tutelage of pirates, who would quickly come to see her as the little sister they never had. She, in turn, saw them as her real family, not the ones who'd abandoned her all those years ago.But her time on the Five Seas would come to an end with a Maelstrom trap. One that saw her and the rest of the crew in chains and headed to the gallows. But she was given a singular chance to escape her fate, a chance that her Captain urged her to take. Cel enlisted with the Maelstrom, service instead of sentence. She rose through the ranks remarkably quickly, her natural agility and sharpshooter training seeing her to an Officer's position within a few short years. She had her share of mishaps and accidents, but nothing that would endanger her life. That would come later, and would result in her leaving the Maelstrom behind her.

After her time with the Grand Company, she tried to find work that would give her life meaning. But given her past work and current state, few would even look at her as anything more than a pity hire. The skills she'd worked to cultivate and hone felt useless without an outlet. After trying to find answers at the bottom of a bottle, she was approached by an old contact who, for the right price, would help her get back on her feet. With nothing else to lose, she drained most of her nest egg for the chance to do something again.Several weeks of recovery and a permanent shift in her aether later, she was back to...well. Not 100%, but something approaching it. Given her past that refused to forget about her, she began to make her way through the world as one of the adventurers she'd seen so often, and it was good work. She had direction again, an outlet for her rage at the world, and it wasn't difficult to make ends meet with her skill set, but she began to grow weary of fighting. She'd seen enough to last her a lifetime, and then some. She hung up her weapon again, but this time it was by her own choice. Between her pension from the Maelstrom and her own savings, she had enough to live a tidy life on her own, and she could devote herself to her own hobbies
